For a little change in pace, let’s look at another dynamic that threatens our long-term existence. Embodied in a two-letter acronym is a method of one-way communication that has inexorably effected (read: damaged) our society. Turning on the “TV” is not a normal action in most households - because it is always on. For many, television defines each moment of their lives.
From the Daily Mail, the words of the one surviving Mumbai attackers:
‘I have done right,’ he told investigators. ‘I have no regrets.’
and,
One police source said: ‘He [Kasab] was telling our people this in a most dispassionate way and responded to the horror their faces betrayed by shrugging his shoulders, as if it was all of no real consequence.’
Beyond the audacity of the Jihadist attacks in Mumbai, we must look at the scope and design of this operation in order to understand the on-going threat. Although these events were of a suicide nature, they can also be characterized as a military operation conducted against civilian targets.

Based on the statistics, we may be farther into the status of Bread and Circuses than we were aware.

Over the past several days, many Americans, myself included, are becoming more deeply concerned about the future of America and our place in it. One thing that the election has taught me is that perhaps I have put too much faith in the *enduring* exceptionalism of the character of America. Now, I believe, it is imperative that those of us who treasure the gift of Liberty (a.k.a. Freedom), must begin anew to make the case for policy and leadership that will sustain the gift of liberty.
As one first step, we must recognize that history demonstrates that the liberty that we are accustomed to today, is not a natural occurrence, it is a privilege, it must be nurtured through the application of our character and foundational belief in a moral code much greater than any government could be. These are some of my thoughts about Deserving Liberty.
Over the next few days, I will develop my thoughts on what actions, thoughts, and beliefs we much embrace in order to deserve Liberty - while realizing that those things do not guarantee success in fulfilling our desire.

I had seen references to Pat’s Blog, but had not visited there until today. If you are not familiar with this guy, be sure to read his “About” page and his interview with MAXIM. He is a new kind of warrior and a new kind of Great American!
A ‘little old lady’ was a lone pro-marriage voice at an anti-prop 8 rally (read:mob event) in Palm Springs, California. As you will see near the end of the video, the woman was assaulted, not to mention extensively harassed, for voicing her viewpoint.
Amazingly, the in-studio anchor commented that there seemed to be plenty of “hate on both sides.”
Public discourse becomes stranger every day. It is now an understatement to say that some speech is more free than other speech. Now, as dictated by our fellow citizens, we are “free” to participate in popularly approved speech - and that is all.
Seeing that the West is made up of civilized beings of distinguished reason, the enemies of the West are attempting to appeal to our common sense and have asked us to JUST GIVE UP! Should we be surprised at the audacity of this suggestion? No, we should not be surprised. There are several societal factors (social suicidal tendencies) indicating that we do not intend to continue on.
Many Westerners would disagree that they exhibit suicidal tendencies, and instead, are just interested in doing what pleases them, within the “ME” generation. However, the view of an outsider might lead one to a different conclusion.
The self-absorption of the general populations of the West provide indicators that we wish this to be our last generation. Low birth rates, lack of religious conviction, abdication of the raising of children to for-profit and government institutions… and the list goes on.
Are there only a few of us remaining that make daily choices that indicate our vote to the continuance of our civilization?
